Our Beginning

In December of 2013, Bethel Church purchased the building formerly owned by the Boys & Girls Club in Gary, Indiana. Desiring to use the building to serve the community in greater ways, Bethel Church’s leadership board decided to establish a separate 501(C)(3) community organization. 

City Life Center of Northwest Indiana is the culmination of Bethel Church's decision to establish a community center. CLC NWI now serves the community through afterschool  programming and summer programs, educational and social services, and ongoing acts of compassion. The 41,000-square-foot building at 225 West 5th Avenue in Gary, Indiana provides hours of fun and learning for our youth.

We envision a wholistic approach to serving families and impacting the community. Outside of our daily service to the youth, we will expand our adult and family services to include mental health, clothing and feeding of the less fortunate, as well as providing spiritual guidance to those who seek clarity and vision. 

We rely on donations from the community to fund City Life Center of Northwest Indiana. In order to continue serving the Gary, Indiana Youth through our work, your contributions are needed, and so very appreciated.
